Traumatic Time— Critical parenting  during this crisis.

During this particularly challenging, and in many ways traumatic, time, parents are often feeling overwhelmed. The experience of being a parent is as crucial for adult patients as it is for the parents of child and adolescent patients, and therefore needs to be in the mind of the therapist.

Susan Berger, Psy.D. will present a framework that can help therapists of patients who are parents identify critical areas of parenting in addition to the parents of their child and adolescent patients. This framework, based on theoretical concepts of Bion and Winnicott, can be integrated with working on individual issues within the context of family dynamics in the here and now.
